quote:If you update the firmware of the BIOS then resetting the CMOS isn't going to fix it. You either have to contact Asus about it and send the board (or just the chip in that needs to be flashed) or find the original BIOS firmware. Where did you get this firmware from, I didn't see your model on the listing that is from Asus on their site so... RE: need help (updated BIOS, comp won't boot) by zaher1988 on 08-28-2005 at 08:14 PM

Should be covered under warranty if it was their BIOS update that screwed it up. This happened to one of our computers. It was doing a BIOS update, and my sister clicked something she shouldn't. PC froze, and it "fried" the BIOS. RE: RE: need help (updated BIOS, comp won't boot) by evm on 09-01-2005 at 01:46 AM
quote: ya, i found a motherboard for 70$ and it working so far i got the bios update from the asus site when i was flashing my bios there was a block out for a few hours and it damged my bios so bad that i couldn't boot from a floppy quote:i allready tried that, the 1st thing i tried quote:well, the system speaker was beeping non-stop btw.. i could replay for a few days cuz i didn't have my comp working and my sister wound't let me use her comp thanx for helping everyone RE: need help (updated BIOS, comp won't boot) by matty on 09-03-2005 at 03:31 PM
quote:Do you mean black out? If not then talk to Asus and say that after flashing your BIOS your computer wouldn't boot they may replace the board for you... although you already bought another one. But other then that if it was a blackout then there would be nothing they can do. RE: need help (updated BIOS, comp won't boot) by Patchou on 09-03-2005 at 04:33 PM
They wouldn't replace anything, at least not for free... this also happened to me years ago. If your bios is fried, then their's absolutely nothing you can do. The backup that's made on your disk before flashing the bios cannot be used as you need to boot before you're able to launch the upload program.
