hi,
I'm using:
Messenger 7.5.0244
msgplus 3.54.132
mess.be patch
issue: when contacts on my list change their nick, it's not registering on the event log window.

It is documented and has been fixed in the latest version of Messenger Plus!. Unfortunatly it is unavailable to the public as it is being privatly tested, but I can assure you it has been resolved.
Problem was, was that MSN Messenger (7.5) changed the way it was notified of name changes and Plus! didn't recognize it because 7.5 came out after the latest public release. So Plus! wasn't being notified of the name changes either.

During the month of september is the plan. Patchou isn't home at the moment so I haven't been able to get a hold of him to find out an estimated date.
