Yup, I confirm that (I'm a lighting tech/stage hand also). But in this case it is the (strange) name of a program, not a type of editor; HugSpy meant "WYSIWYG" as in a type of editor, as in the "definition".

It would help if you state which kind of WYSIWYG editor you want; what do you want to edit?.

WYSIWYG stands for "What You See Is What You Get" and this can be for any type of program/file/format/etc you can think of.

eg: a graphics program is in fact WYSIWYG. Word is also WYSIWYG, etc... etc... Although "WYSIWYG" is sometimes used to loose as a definition; the original meaning/use is to indicate a program to make something on screen as it would be outputted without knowing the underlying codes to do it.

So, I assume you mean an HTML WYSIWYG editor. In that case, the web is full of them. Use google and search with "WYSIWYG HTML" (without the quotes). Don't say Google came up with nothing because that simply means you either didn't search or you didn't search correctly.

Also, some browsers have build in editors which are WYSIWYG...

Another note on those HTML WYSIWYG editors: Most (free) editors I know of, aren't that good at all and often created very bloated html. It is much better to learn to code actual html instead of relying on such editors to do it for you...

Cookie is right. But I don't know if Cookie knows NVU . I've never used it, but it looks very nice. It's made by the Linspire team and it's not only for Windows but also for Linux .

You should check it out @ http://www.nvu.com
