Tried updating your video card's driver? RE: Battlefield 2 probs by stoshrocket on 09-17-2005 at 04:38 PM how can i?? i dont know how... i know ive got something among the lines of a radeon, but dont know what to do... RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Menthix on 09-17-2005 at 04:48 PM You can download Radeon drivers from the Ati site. Just select your OS, choose RADEON and download the Catalyst drivers. RE: Battlefield 2 probs by stoshrocket on 09-17-2005 at 04:58 PM will this harm/change my computer in any way shape or form???? (its the family computer so i am getting in shit if this fucks up the comp) RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Menthix on 09-17-2005 at 05:01 PM
No, it's just a new version of your video card driver. You already have this driver on your PC, it will update that one to the latest version. RE: Battlefield 2 probs by stoshrocket on 09-17-2005 at 05:08 PM so, i dowload the following feature... 'CATALYST 5.8 Windows XP - Driver Download' yes? btw, how do i check my video card, im checking it IS a radeon just in case RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Menthix on 09-17-2005 at 05:18 PM
quote:Yes. Press "Start" > "Run..." > Type "dxdiag" > hit "OK" > Click the "Display" tab (or "Display 1"). In the "Device" section.... "Name", "Manufacturer" and "Chip Type" should give you an idea on what card you have installed. When your system isn't a laptop and there is something that mentions Radeon there you can download the Catalist drivers without a problem. RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Ezra on 09-17-2005 at 05:23 PM Make sure you have at least 512 MB memory, cause the same thing happened to someone I know, new drivers and all didn't help, so I called the hotline and they said you need a minimum of 512 MB or else it will do that. Splash Screen, black screen and then Boom, back to windows RE: RE: Battlefield 2 probs by stoshrocket on 09-17-2005 at 05:41 PM
quote: erm.... 512mb of memory?? how the hell do i find that out... unless you mean on my graphics card, i quote hear what the thing reads... 'name: GIGABYTE RADEON 9200 manufacturer: ATI tech chip type: RADEON 92-- AGP (0x5961) approx. total memory: 128.0 MB' Hmph, any chance i can boost that upto 512mb? RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Ezra on 09-17-2005 at 05:47 PM
no, I mean 512 MB of RAM, you can check by going to start> run type dxdiag and see what Memory says on the first screen. RE: Battlefield 2 probs by stoshrocket on 09-17-2005 at 05:52 PM
ah whew.... check the screen out... RE: Battlefield 2 probs by Ezra on 09-17-2005 at 05:59 PM
