MSN killing internet connection? by kz29 on 09-17-2005 at 07:19 PM
I'm new.. and I've tried to search this here.. but I couldn't find it..
So today my dsl suddenly stopped working (I hate my ISP- bellsouth), but anyways, so I did what I usually do, disconnect, turn off the power for it, wait few minutes, restart it basically. But when I tried that today, it was working fine, then suddenly my DSL goes out again, and I had tried to do it again, now, this was all working fine until when I tried to resign back into my MSN.
My MSN just wouldn't sign in, my AIM, IE, etc were all working, but just when I tried to sign into MSN all of them basically just lost their connection and everything. My friend told me to install 7.5, which I also did, which is having a similar effect. Everytime I try to sign into MSN I lose all my internet connection, and just when I close MSN all the connection returns.. now.. I'm not exactly great with computers, but I don't consider myself completely illiterate either.. so firewall= off, anything that might inhibit MSN from working properly also is turned off.
Even though I have custom names and everything, once I turn that off, I can also sign in, it's just that WHEN I sign in, I don't have any internet connection either, if I do it's for maybe a second, and I'm without it again.. I was wondering if anyone else had any advice on this?
Thanks.
EDIT: Okay, I have NO CLUE how this wound up in this thread.. this was supposed to be in the other thread for messenger..

I don't think it's plus' problem, becuase of the fact of how it wasn't working when I had 7.0
(which I had just tried it by killing plus, but it still is killing my internet)
Oh, and you mean list my processes?
EDIT:
Sorry, the picture didn't load so I didn't know what you were talking about
