I remember there was a big thread not too long ago about someone wanting a webcam recorder well i was just thinking about the one hosted on msnfanatic http://ml20rc.msnfanatic.com it has the source code and was thinking it might be popular if somebody made a port over of the program to a a messenger plus plugin.... just an idea

yea i thought about doing that, and I had a bit of a look at the code to try doing it, but then I got busy at work and haven't had much time lately.

I'm working on a webcam recorder too, but I'm not using this library 
Already got most parts I need, just gotta stick em together nicely and it'll be one lean mean recording machine

like Millenium Edition said, I am already writing a msgplus plugin, but since my user interfaces are normally horrible, I'd love to see other programs with such function.
I intend to implement any Audio, Video and Image recording.
TheBlasphemer: I can give you any help you want related to playing the ml20 streams (that is, if you're recording the stream and not the screen).

I let MSN do the decoding, and then before letting it draw first output to an avi 
I've got it working atm, but I'm still struggling with compression (about 5 seconds is 5MB without compression )

I think I selected DivX 5 as compression, but I'm not entirely sure
This is only testing though, and I'm still facing some serious issues, but I'll try to fix these as fast as I can (but I can't do it that fast because of a certain kind of hard material wrapped around my left wrist )

Good sample.......I personally dont see whats wrong with it
You can see its recorded at the connection speed and the quality/size is webcam like

do you hook ICDecompress, or the function that draws on the screen?
how do you make sure the time is correct (as in when the webcam window is minimized)?
very good quality on the streams, good job.
you could take a look at the source code (http://ml20rc.msnfanatic.com/ml20gui-0.7.1-src.zip).
files export.c and avifile.c (altough the code is not very clean) show a way to export with compression. It's not the best I think, but it works nicely on my computer.
