Tabs crash Messenger. by bast on 09-27-2005 at 12:59 PM

If I enable tabs, the do display. If I try to change from tab 1 to tab 2, they don't work. If I close the chatwindow, Messenger totally crashes. I also had that even opening 2 conversations with tabconvo on, crashes Messenger.

MSN Messenger 7.5.0299 Dutch
Messenger Plus! 3.60.144 Mess.be Special Edition
Windows XP Home Edition Dutch

[edit]

And yes, if that matters, I currently use the FlyOS Windowblinds style.

Try it without FlyOS WindowBlinds ;)

Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Client Version: 7.0.0813
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.52.0130 <-- had to revert back to the old plus but i was using the latest off msgplus.net

and i have the same problem. the only plugin i have is stuffplug and i have had windows blinds but uninstalled it ages ago.
this is really annoying but its a good feature.

Unless you made a typo you are using an old version of MSNM, there's a newer 7.0 version: 7.0.0816.

You can get it by going to the MSN Messenger site and change the OS after clicking download, choose Win2000 for a WinXP compatible version of MSNM 7.0.0816 (additionally i have this MSNM version on my website for download).

Also make sure you are using the latest version of Stuffplug NG (you can use the beta compatible with MSNM 7.5 on MSNM 7.0.0816 too).

Please try without any plugin (disable Stuffplug) and if it persists, email me with as much information about how to reproduce the problem as possible and we'll work on that together.

well it was either screenshot sender or file transfer plus.. it all works now thanks ^^

RE: Tabs crash Messenger. by T-PO on 09-29-2005 at 07:38 PM

I had EXACTLY the same problem and I also had the screenshot sender and File Transfer Plus plugins...

I disabled these plugins and now it works... So I donīt know which plugin to blame but it is one these two....

regards,

TPO

I use Screenshot Sender version 3.0.561 and do not have this problem.

To find out wich plugin causes it enable em one by one and test ;)

RE: Tabs crash Messenger. by Ezra on 09-29-2005 at 10:22 PM

I have Screenshot Sender and File Transfer Plus and there are no problems here

RE: Tabs crash Messenger. by Sunshine on 09-30-2005 at 11:05 AM

It can be Color Nick (see this post) and/or File Transfer Plus (see this post).

After updating MSNM and/or Plus!, you oughta check for updated plugins aswell ;)

RE: Tabs crash Messenger. by bast on 10-13-2005 at 03:07 PM

Disabling all 3 of the plugins mentioned in this topic, and putting MSN Messenger in the exclusion-list fixed it :)
