Hi! Please help me :)
(Sorry about my english). My computer is dead (Windows XP is dead). I didn't lose de data, but i can't boot Windows. How can I backup de Plus Settings? I am thinking in emoticons and personalized nicknames of my contacts.

I searched the forum but i only found instructions about "export/import settings"... but i can't boot windows.

I think you have to fix your computer !
You can boot with your windows Xp Cd, and maybe repair your windows.

It was impossible... sure I tried... i am backing up all the data and then i'm going to format de HD.

You are doing the right thing.
Then you  reeinstal the windows and restore the backup files.

You will need to find a program that can read the registry files from the original Windows installation then export this (It would be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\MsgPlus2\%email%)

I should also let you know that once you find the program the registry files are store in C:\Windows\System32\config
There are multiple files
  • Software
  • Default
  • SAM
  • System
  • Software

Well... my pc come back to life... it was not necesary to format... plus, my registry files were corrupt, so i couldn't have backup my messenger plus data... i restore to a previous system point with ultimate boot cd for windows.
