i hope is not cos i wont feel like using it if it looks that way, but it looks fake why would it only say "Messenger 8" at the top if it is "MSN Messenger 8", and they even have Plus! in there

Also, the window is called "Messenger 8.0 BETA"

MSN Messenger 8 comes together with the Microsoft Office 12 development builds. But it's not possible to sign in yet as they're hard-coded to work for certain Passport accounts only.

i can see why they wouldnt call it "MSN Messenger" due to the merges between Yahoo an MSN , prolly would rename it to Just " Messenger" instead of MSN messenger

MSN Messenger can accept anyone with a .NET passport, ur yahoo friend must have registered his/her yahoo account.

It doesn't look real to me, the colours just don't go with something that Microsoft would usually make, the rest of the MSN versions have stayed within the same colour scheme, such a dramatic change would be out of character...

It would be nice if it was different colours.

It contains no virus however is fake. 5.0 MB for the insatller was the first give away, it would be in the 9.0 region i think

Its fake. So obvious, just a really bad concept which is going to be a skin, they should have named it something else

it has nothing to do with yahoo, msn messenger and yahoo messenger will stay the same with the only diference that both services will be able to connect with each other and share some of its features, but it wont be a single IM service.

its fake for all of the things plus things like the display picture being removed thats in 7.5 (sign in screen).... just dont think they'd remove stuff that they've just added

Yes, i am an Official MSN Messenger Beta tester. No the Beta has not begun yet. And yes, i agree with mwe99's post. Until the Beta begin's we will not know if it is indeed a fake or not.

I really love how everyone on here is outrightly declaring this as fake when they really don't have a clue as to the validity of the screenshots.

It would be so much better if people who actually knew the answer replied, rather than everyone on the forum who THINK they know if the screenshots are fake or not.

My comment merely shows that I don't like the new skin or the concept. I'm not saying which.

But really, you guys are just fueling the fire by confusing the issue with your claims that YOU know what is fake and what isn't.

Not even the testers know of MSN Messenger 8.0, so no one can really say anything.

Not just screenhots they gave an msi which was only 5.0 MB and made this skin. I got rid of it straight away

Actually that installer is for MSN Messenger 7.5 (Build 0306) and for me, at least, it was 9.2MB.

Again, none of this matters. Just because they don't want to distribute the version they have, doesn't mean a thing. The screenshots are being backed up by a number of people who are respected in the MSN Messenger community, just for your information.

Oh and, just because the testers (you?) haven't gotten the build, does not mean it cannot leak. Nor that it does not exist.

The testers don't get all the builds, quite obviously, it's not really that big a deal to be a tester - unless you like testing and reporting bugs. Not necessarily seeing the newest technology/newest build. (ie. there are times where we get builds that we need to test with nothing changed)

I'm not going to say these are real or fake either. However, in my opinion, if MSNM 8.0 looked like this, I would sure as hell want skins for it. Quite a few people confirm this to be real, and quite a few don't. It's just a matter of time weither or not we are going to find out if it is .

We'll see mid-November if this screenshot is real or fake .

If you notice they always say "Messenger" instead of "MSN Messenger". They have always said "MSN Messenger" to distinguish between the windows messenger.

Not only that, but they changed the systray icon. That icon is a trademark, and I dont think they would change it.

Seems fake in my opinion.

Well people could be going on forever stating their opinions of whether 'its real' or whether 'its fake', but the plain fact is that people will not know the truth until it's released.

Just wait, be patient, and then we'll see.
