SLI config on the uber 7800 series by stoshrocket on 11-14-2005 at 05:05 PM

As most of you know the (not so) new graphics card range from Nvidia was announced. Upon looking at overclockers UK to throw in an uber card with my other bits and bobs i am buying at the moment to throw together an uber PC, but it says SLI ready. Upon looking further it says, min 400W for single card, and 500W for SLI. Now, what does SLI do/mean/have anything to do with my uber computer? do i need it? i only ask because i am buying a 460W PSU and dont really want to upgrade unless this uber card can offer me something even mor uber...

SLI Allows you to run two SLI capable Nvidia cards side by side, so they share the graphics processing. You will also need an sli capable mobo (with 2 pci-express sockets, afaik you cant have sli on agp cards. The mobo must also have a compatable chipset)
