Has anyone seen the previews for the next version of Windows? I, myself have seen very few screenshots since I first found out what it was code-named. What do people think of the new Windows style? I, myself like the design but don't know much about how it will be so different from Windows XP.

it wont be so different by a large margin from XP.. unless u have a 256MB card ( Video card) or More it'll work fine,, for screenshots of it, search google for them,

If you can run Windows XP or on your machine you will be fine with Windows Vista.

i loooove the new design, heard about the boot up times/new sleep things; i know its old news but i think its cool, my comp takes AGES to load up. I was thinking bout getting it instead of windows xp with my new computer i am building but im not too sure when its coming/if its out yet...

well... it just says three secs, but with the sound of this new thing they are putting in, sleep or somthing, doesnt look like ill be shutting it down anyway, background tasks AND low power!!!

nah, i think that is the suggetsion to businesses, that about them not HAVING to get it yet, but can hold out till 2008, i think it shoudl be out before then

Whoever said it said something like turning on and off as reliably as a TV, in two or three seconds.

aww that would Explain it,, but correct me if im wrong,, Mandriva so far is the fastaest one that has Fast Bootup times compared to Suse an Ubuntu, what does shawnz use a low end lightweight Window Manager, anyway im not gonna ask since its going OT

From the few screenshots I've seen I really like the new style. But I'm little confused about the boot times, and the file system that will be implemented.

How much different will the new Windows be compared to XP?

More of a Resource Hog than XP in other words Explains to you about WinFS FileSystem

its not going to be much different apparently, its just going to use up your graphics card to make animations/3d stuff on your desktop, going to be more reliable, all the usual bull that microsoft spit out when a new version is brought out.
