(/showthread.php?tid=53094) Mic in -> line out? by Exca on 11-19-2005 at 10:18 AM I was wondering, it would be very handful if i could turn my microphone in to a second line out Is it possible to do that? not just parallell with the original line out; i mean a seperate second line out where i can send other sound trough, than the first one. RE: Mic in -> line out? by seany on 11-19-2005 at 10:30 AM go buy a big expensive professional soundcard RE: Mic in -> line out? by CookieRevised on 11-19-2005 at 11:51 AM
quote:impossible... and not only with soundcards but also impossible in every other audio equipment. The electronics are made that it is a line-in, you can't turn that around to a line-out if it wasn't forseen electronically like that. PS: some trivia: A microphone is in essence a speaker turned inside out though (and vice versa). In a speaker, electrical signals are converted to motion of the membrane wich makes air moving which makes sound. In a microphone the reverse happens, moving air moves the membrane and this is converted into electrical signals. In other words you can use a microphone as a speaker (not much loud and big quality though ) But do not try this with an expensive microphone as you could damage the microphone; if you want to try this, do it with a cheap one... quote:Untrue. Realtek AC97 has a controller to change a line in to a line out. I just don't believe that you can have two different outputs. RE: Mic in -> line out? by CookieRevised on 11-19-2005 at 12:05 PM

quote: it is an HP EDIT: no new drivers available; didn't find an option to swap... So i guess it's not possible then? RE: Mic in -> line out? by Underlord on 11-19-2005 at 11:02 PM Yea it probably isn't possible then.
