Hi, every one

After a trouble with my PC i had do did a restore of it and since that, when launching MSN Messenger (7.5.0311) i don't get anymore the "plus" option in the upper menu
I tried to uninstall MSGPlus, reboot ==> same trouble, tried also to uninstall MSN Messenger ==> same result

Though what can i do to be able to acces the preference of Messenger Plus ? and bring back this option in the upper menu ?

Does it come up after you install, or never?

I used to get the normal "Plus" option in the main window menu, but since today it had disappear.

So i want even after uninstalling/re-installing MSG Plus i don't get it anymore ==> seems that the installation of MSG plus can't finish normally ...

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
Click the Processes Tab
Is MsgPlus.exe running?

If it is not try and run it from the Program Files directory (or wherever you installed it to)

Once it is running click the Plus! menu > goto Preferences > Micellaneous > Default Mode - Forced

Yep MsgPlus.exe is well loaded with windows and is running .

But that IS the problem i don't get the Plus! menu ... that's what i'm asking to know how recover it ...

what about safe mode... does it run there?

I've succeed to launch C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe, though i re-installed latest MsgPlus, but still no 'Plus !" button even in C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe

i get the "plus !" button in safe mode but not in normal mode with C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe

What kind of joke is it ??

Any viruses on pc (sorry if stating the obvious)

... in other words, how to have acces to the Plus ! preference when the plus! menu is not appearing in the MSN Messenger main Window

(MsgPlus.exe is even loaded as a process ...)

Download Plus! Tweak!, and check that the key "AttachToMsnMsg" has a value of True (it should be in "--> All Users <--").

If it says False, you'll need to change it to True.

I did it, but no better result ...
It seems MsgPlus don't finish his installation (i had a look in the registry after once more re install MsgPlus and use Plus! Tweak! and i get an entry:

Hkey_Current_User\Software\Patchou\MsgPlus2\SetupEndParams ==> value = up=n&sp=n&lg=fr&v=3146    ???????????

This is just used when launching the web browser in the selected language you choose.

Try using Windows Messenger and see if Plus! shows its menu. To use Windows Messenger (should be in the start menu, or C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe)
