Yes, Plus! has got so many features now, it can get confusing sometimes. I believe is working on that (he already introduced the configuration wizard).
You can also take a look at the tutorials to see what the features do and how they work.

yeah i went thought that but it never really help and how do u get that wee dot u need for the colour in the names

How do I add colors to my display name?
- Open a chat window.
- Type "/nick " in the chat (without the quotes,with a space at the end,don't press enter or send).
- Now press CTRL and K at the same time... a color panel will show up, just click the color you want.
- Now type your nickname.
- Press Enter or Send when you're done.
- You now have a colored nickname.
