I have MSN Messenger 7.0 installed in my PC but when I try to install Messenger Plus vesrion 3 I get the error message:

Minimum Requirements Not Met

Sorry but you must have MSN/Windows Messenger 4.6 (minimum) installed on your system... etc...

I am waiting for your opinion.

Do you have Windows Messenger installed (if you're on XP)? If not, then install it.

hm...

try uninstalling msgplus! and msn, restart your computer, and then reinstall msn then plus

I have succesfully installed Msg Plus but now the problem that I fetch is that Msg plus is installed only in Windows Messenger and not in MSN Messenger.

I would appreciate it if you have a solution to my second problem.

Can you specify exactly your details:

What is your Windows version exactly (this includes service pack numbers etc)?
What is the exact and complete version of MSN Messenger (incl. which language)?
What is the exact and complete version of Windows Messenger (incl. which language)?
Did you ever removed/tweaked Windows Messenger so it doesn't run automatically?
Have you ever installed any other addons/skins/patches/etc for MSN Messenger and/or Windows Messenger?
In Windows, are you using it with an administrative account or with a restricted account?

Service Pack 4

MSN Messenger version 7 (Build 7.0.0777) - English

Windows Messenger version 5.1 (Build 5.1.0701) - English

Windows Messenger is not running automatically because that is what I have specified in my preferences.

I have not installed any other addons/skins/patches/etc for MSN Messenger and/or Windows Messenger.

I don't know what an administrative account or a restricted account is.

  1. Uninstall Messenger Plus! completely (by going to "add/remove programs")... you can keep your preferences when asked...

  2. Uninstall MSN Messenger 7 completely (by going to "add/remove programs")

  3. Download and install the latest MSN Messenger 7.0 (this is 7.0.0816) from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?F...-b261-687e0082feb8

  4. Download and install the latest Messenger Plus version (3.61.145) from here:
    http://www.msgplus.net/download.php

  5. Restart computer
Now check out if everything works ok. If not:
  1. Uninstall Windows Messenger completely (by going to "add/remove programs")...
I say this because Windows Messenger 5.1.0701 is relative new (from sept 16th) and it could be possible that it interfears with Plus! for some sort of reason. But this said, if you never start up Windows Messenger, it also can't give a problem in the first place....
