Hi all. RE: New NET Passport Query by ShawnZ on 12-05-2005 at 01:51 AM You can still sign in to MSN Messenger if the email address doesn't exist anymore... RE: New NET Passport Query by rhys100 on 12-05-2005 at 05:20 AM
yeah i know that but i don't want to do that. RE: New NET Passport Query by qgroessl on 12-05-2005 at 12:51 PM I don't think there's a way to do this yet... But if you explain it a bit more throroughly you'll might get somebody that could help you a bit better by either making a program, or somebody that can tell you how you can do it already (if you can). If you are talking about your Plus! settings (ie. custom names), in the preferences panel there is a spot that says "Save/Load" in the bottom left corner. Just click that and select "Export". Click next, and select what you want to save and where to save it to. You should then be able to load those preferences to the new sign in name by importing the same file into the settings for the new screen name. If you mean the regular Messenger settings, the only thing I know of that you can save is your contact list. RE: New NET Passport Query by MeEtc on 12-05-2005 at 04:34 PM If you mean your MSN contact list, MSN can export/inport a contact list as well. Look under the "Contacts" menu. It creates an XML file that you can use to inport your old contacts to your new passport account RE: New NET Passport Query by haydos on 12-05-2005 at 04:38 PM
quote: I think the main thing rhys100 is trying to find out is whether he can do this with custom names staying on the contacts. So basically this depends on whether or not the Plus! preference backup backs up custom contact names. RE: New NET Passport Query by MeEtc on 12-05-2005 at 04:39 PM
yes, Plus! does back up all custom names, along with most other settings as well. RE: New NET Passport Query by rhys100 on 12-05-2005 at 09:23 PM
Don't worry. |
