Plugin Batch Add EmotiSounds. by nekkro-kvlt on 01-16-2006 at 08:24 PM

Hello, I'd like to program a plugin which could add custom sounds to msgplus, because I have a sound collection, and it's quite boring adding them one by one. I know how program that, but the only thing that left to me is which command must I send to msgplus, if there's one, to add a specific file, in a specific category...
I also wanted to know if I have to convert file before, if yes, what format?
Finally, I think it would be great to be able to save a collection, so, I wondered where are stored the files, and in which format...

Any help, or just a way to look for, would be very appreciated !

Thanks in advance...

PS: I hope my english is good ;)

I've found that sounds are stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Messenger Plus!\Custom under formaterd names like #{hexa}.dat
which are all just mp3s
Extra informations about sounds are in registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\MsgPlus2\Nobody\CustSounds]
at the same format {hexa} .

Custom sounds can only be added thru Messenger Plus! No other method is allowed. Custom sounds are not just "simple" MP3's per-say, they need to have specific MPEG layers and other characteristic elements (like only be 8 or 10 seconds long depending on the quality; which is also defined in a specific way among other things), they need to apply to certain rules which only Messenger Plus! will set correctly, otherwise they will be useless and rejected.

So you must add the sounds one by one, there is no way around it (unless Patchou makes batch adding possible in Messenger Plus!).

That directory is not always that one. It depends on much more stuff.
