I SEEM TO HAVE THE OLD VERSION OF MSN MESSENGER AS WELL AS THE NEW ONE ON MY PC AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET RID OF THE OLD ONE WHICH SEEMS TO ALWAYS BE SIGNING ME IN. CAN ANYONE HELP.

Hey irishlassiegold. Welcome to the forums.
I think the program you're talking about is Windows Messenger.
To prevent it from signing in, go to...
Tools > Options > Preferences > Untick: Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts
If you want to uninstall it, please follow CookieRevised's post in this thread
