Problem with MSN Spaces/Contact Cards - Printable Version

Problem with MSN Spaces/Contact Cards by oilerric on 01-28-2006 at 11:18 PM
When I have MSN Messenger open I can click on the little star beside my contact's name and the contact card opens. When the card is opened though I can only see their display picture and name. I cannot see any of the links to MSN spaces. I have not used any patches or anything, so I am not sure why this is happening. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

it never appeared? or all of a sudden it disappeared, if so, most likely server issue

Does it say connecting...? It may take a while to load.

I have had many instances where it would say connecting... and it would never load... Microsoft hasn't fixed the problem... and it is a known issure. I've reported it once or twice. Nothing has been done to help it it seems. Signing out and back in should help though.

As far as I know it's never appeared. My friends were always commenting about theirs and I never knew what they meant when they talked about seeing the MSN Spaces content on the Contact Cards. Then one day one of them wa over when I was on MSN Messenger and they saw that the content just wasn't there on mine.
I uninstalled it and downloaded it again, but it still doesn't work.
Edit --- No, it doesn't say connecting.

I think it's a server issue in most cases. Had this problem once, but then I tought they just had blocked me from looking at their spaces in their contact cards. Suddenly disappeard and I knew it was server problem. When it doesn't show in the contact card you can't look at their space? Think so and then it might be some space servers that's down or that's overloaded.

Contact cards don't work at all in WLM do they?
yeah, in 7.5 they sometimes won't appear.
it is SOMETIMES something to do with login. log in to any passport site and try again.

They may have their settings set up to only allow certain people to view their space. If your emails not on the list, then your S.O.L.
May also be a firewall blocking the site (which happened to me when MSN Spaces was first released).
Seeing as its getting major updating lately, hopefully M$ will take the time to fix little problems like this with MSN Spaces AND MSN/Window Live Messenger.
And Contact Cards are working in WLM

I wonder if the fact that I use Mozilla as my browser has any effect on it? I have IE, I just don't use it.

Using Firefox makes a big difference when your actually viewing someones MSN Space, but has no effect over the contact card. Many of the "cooler" features on MSN Spaces can only be used in IE (such as the media player), and won't work in other browsers. At least none that i've used.

I figured out that in Turkey there's just nothing but the basic features. I changed my location to USA and all the spaces, link to my own space, sharing folders, new activities, games etc. came up.
Why??!?!

hey guys
i dont knw if there's a seperate thread goin on about this but i decided to start here.
my problem is simple, i just need to knw hw to go about at it. alot of the msn spaces ive seen hav songs playing on them..i want my space to play a song too..
i knw the answer for this must be pretty simple.. i just dnt knw wat it is.. so any help ??
