Locking isn't done in the hardware. It is done using the software which runs on the phone.
All you need to do is get your unlock code - you can pay different sites which will calculate it for you based on the specifics of your phone and provider.

No, it doesnt. All that is needed is an unlock code and how to use it or an unlocking data cable.

Ebay will help, search for "unlocking phone k700i" or something, can get an unlock code for about 50p, im sure you can afford that.
