movie problem by YourNeibour on 02-07-2006 at 02:32 AM

I downloaded something off the internet and joined it it was a wmv movie.  I then tried to play it back but when I play it back the movie freezes for 5 or 6 seconds then starts.  I am using WMP any suggestions as to why that is happening?

thanks

You running anything else at the same time? It might be a lack of memmory that's making it slow.  It might have 5 or 6 seconds of black screen at the begining too, just a thought.  I'm not too sure what else it can be, hopefully someone else will be able to shed some more light on it for you.

the begining is fine just when I choose another location mabye 1 min into the movie it freezes for 5 or 6 seconds but no black screen just the frame freezes.

maybe you should get the latest version of windows media player?

here are your choices:

Windows Media Player 10 if you have windows Xp
                                       or
Windows Media Player 9 if you have anything below windows Xp.

or it could just be a memory problem, or the video was made that way possibly.

No, he told me that the file type of the movie (mpeg) seems to load much slower than if he converted it to lets say an avi.

Has he tried using quicktime to open the mpeg files and seeing if the same thing happens?
