Looks like the only way you can do it is through PHPMyAdmin RE: how to backup a forum by ShawnZ on 02-16-2006 at 03:27 AM
quote: You can do it from anything that lets you export or save your mysql databases. Just export/save all the mybb_ tables in your database with cpanel or phpmyadmin or directadmin or whatever you happen to use. RE: how to backup a forum by DJKAL on 02-16-2006 at 03:32 AM

RE: how to backup a forum by absorbation on 02-16-2006 at 01:04 PM Who is your host? Most servers have it installed already. RE: how to backup a forum by DJKAL on 02-16-2006 at 04:56 PM
yes i have Cpanel..im using MyBB RE: how to backup a forum by ipab on 02-16-2006 at 05:21 PM if you have cpane, you dont need phpmyadmin again. Just go into mysql and at the bottom of the page there is a link to phpmyadmin. You can then import stuff into the database by going to "SQL" and then importing the file. RE: how to backup a forum by DJKAL on 02-16-2006 at 05:39 PM
i cant see Mysql. RE: how to backup a forum by QtanJ on 02-16-2006 at 07:22 PM
Don't login to the forum, you can't backup there. I've got no experience with myBB, but from what I've heard. I know some versions of phpmyadmin though. RE: how to backup a forum by DJKAL on 02-16-2006 at 07:51 PM
hmmm...Cpanel - is that the admin control panel on the forum? RE: how to backup a forum by ShawnZ on 02-17-2006 at 12:13 AM
quote: quote: you JUST SAID you had cpanel, and you don't know what it is? by the way, you don't have it. quote: yes, its called the README. RE: how to backup a forum by Lou on 02-17-2006 at 12:17 AM
Cpanel is not in the forum. It is a hosting management script. How do you manage your website normally? RE: how to backup a forum by Wabz on 02-17-2006 at 12:24 AM

quote: If you installed phpMyAdmin Login with your details you use for connecting to the database, Click "Export" on the page you see next. You should then see a list to the left. Click the database with the forum tables in it. Also make sure the "SQL" radio button is selected. Then at the bottom of that page, check the "save as file" checkbox, then click "Go". A file download should appear, click "save" etc according to your browser. Then to Import, just click "Import" instead of export on the first page, then click browse, select the file you saved then click "Go" at the bottom. RE: how to backup a forum by Lou on 02-17-2006 at 01:32 AM Be sure to ask him to password protect the directory that phpmyadmin is in, else if someone guesses it, you're screwed.
