I have some AVIs compressed with XVID. The sound plays fine, but the picture just freezes on whatever frame the seeker bar selects. I've Googled this problem and downloaded a tool that supposedly fixes the problem, but it didn't work. RE: DivX by Voldemort on 03-06-2006 at 01:21 AM
have you tried the VLC player? RE: DivX by RaceProUK on 03-06-2006 at 01:22 AM I can play other XVID movies, no problem: I have the latest XVID codecs. I haven't tried VLC, but I have tried WinAmp, and I get the same thing. RE: DivX by Voldemort on 03-06-2006 at 01:27 AM
xvid and divx codecs are different. RE: DivX by rav0 on 03-06-2006 at 08:49 AM

quote:I know: the problem's with XviD. Thread title changed to reflect that RE: XviD by GiantSpider on 03-06-2006 at 04:50 PM I think the key to the problem is buffering, I tend to when in opens up in WMP, press stop, wait abit. Then play. RE: XviD by K.Rishi on 03-06-2006 at 05:09 PM
Whats your laptop's spec? Running a lot of programs at the same time? plz include some more info... RE: XviD by RaceProUK on 03-06-2006 at 11:33 PM
It's not a laptop, it's a desktop. And it's specced enough to run XviD compressed files, as I have other XviDs that don't suffer from the same problem. RE: XviD by Reaper on 03-06-2006 at 11:37 PM i had a similar problem. i found out that by totally removing the codec, then resinstalling a fresh copy, whether it be from a codec pack or not made it work.
