I know remote assistance offers the ability to save the invitation as a file, however you have to grant the access to view your screen.

Is there a way/program that can allow me to connect to my desktop PC from anywhere?

Note: Software CANNOT be installed on the PC i am connecting from.

If you have XP Professional, you can set up a virtual desktop server. Google for the details, I'm not sure how you'd set it up. Then, on any XP machine, you can use Remote Desktop to log into your machine.

try log me in. its free if u just want to remote control but there are some paid plans aswell if u want them.. http://www.logmein.com/

and if u dont like that i also recomend tight vnc. but remote desktop is probably better because u can access files, printers and more through it.

So, I don't think that this would work...

There are web interfaces available for VNC.

Still, he has to install it, doesn't he?

He said nothing can be installed on the PC he is connecting from.

A web browser just needs to be on the PC to connect from.

The PC to be connected to will need something installed, and there's no way it wouldn't.
