Download Service PAck 2 then? 

It contains security fixes for windows which will stop bits of spyware :P

Also ad-aware is free for personal use

Keep an eye on http://www.stopbadware.org/ and as a general rule, stay away from the things they report on. Sure, they're new and who can trust them but it can't hurt.

Use Hitman Pro, it will download other Anti-ad/spyware programs, install them and scan with them.

You can select yourself what programs it should download/install and it can also install virusscanners (trial/not free)

And it's free :-)
