RE: Google redesign? by Patchou on 03-26-2006 at 05:54 AM The more they add stuff to their interface, the less I like spending time on Google. Google for great for once thing: its extremely simple interface and they're losing it. RE: Google redesign? by NiteMare on 03-26-2006 at 05:54 AM i don't have those green bars RE: Google redesign? by Unwritten Law on 03-26-2006 at 05:55 AM i like alltheweb better nooffence RE: Google redesign? by DJeX on 03-26-2006 at 06:04 AM

RE: Google redesign? by haydos on 03-26-2006 at 06:04 AM I'm not getting that either. I'm not signed up for anything google though RE: Google redesign? by Hank on 03-26-2006 at 06:37 AM im not getting that page at all.. RE: Google redesign? by Discrate on 03-26-2006 at 06:45 AM Same, maybe its only for selected people that have signed up for an account. Like im signed up but i dont have it. Have any of you gone into google labs and signed up with anything? Because you possibly got it from there. RE: Google redesign? by Matti on 03-26-2006 at 07:02 AM
I think it's just the fact that it's currently only available on the English version of google.com. When I try on another Google site (like google.be), it still displays in the good old layout. RE: RE: Google redesign? by Discrate on 03-26-2006 at 07:03 AM

quote:exactly. Isnt there a way we can tell google that we would rather prefer a simple, clean and fast search engine like the old google with a similar mail service like gmail without the chat. The chatting feature while checking your mail is simply silly ![]() RE: Google redesign? by Hank on 03-26-2006 at 08:44 AM

this is where they can fall back on 'its just a beta' RE: Google redesign? by user35870 on 03-26-2006 at 09:30 AM its a random thing with a cookie. You can try and make it use the new page by trying this: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2006/03/24/try-out-googles-new-interface/ (need firefox). RE: Google redesign? by user27089 on 03-26-2006 at 09:31 AM I don't see it. RE: Google redesign? by Pyroteq on 03-26-2006 at 09:33 AM google.com and google.com.au appear exactly the same as always for me. RE: Google redesign? by Dane on 03-26-2006 at 09:58 AM
Copy the code below into your browsers address bar and you'll see the new google for the rest of your session in the browser. code: RE: Google redesign? by Rik on 03-26-2006 at 10:49 AM i only see it some times, and i don't like it RE: Google redesign? by Plik on 03-26-2006 at 11:22 AM

I don't like it. RE: Google redesign? by absorbation on 03-26-2006 at 09:02 PM
I don't like it, maybe if the new side bar was on the right, it would look better RE: Google redesign? by RebelSean on 03-26-2006 at 09:21 PM
I don't like it either, I like there very simplistic/minimalistic design like they have now RE: Google redesign? by Kryptonate on 03-26-2006 at 09:39 PM
Google is playing with the interface for quite some time now. People were just randomly chosen for checking the new one. So one time you could have it, the other time it could be the old one again. You can check the new one for yourself by going to google.com and adding this in the address bar: javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=1142683332:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.com"). RE: Google redesign? by Chris4 on 03-26-2006 at 10:38 PM
For some reason won't work when I put that javascript code in the address bar, think I'm doing it wrong. I used the Firefox extension and got it working. RE: Google redesign? by paperless on 03-26-2006 at 10:56 PM
I posted a topic in their groups with this screenshot.. well it was the fastest way i found to send my feedback. RE: Google redesign? by brian on 03-27-2006 at 01:45 AM
It sucks. If anyone is stuck with it by using the small code that sets cookies, here is a simple way to remove it (Firefox 1.5): 1. Go to your Firefox options by Tools > Options 2. Click on the Privacy tab from the top. 3. Click on the View cookies button. 4. Type google in the search box at the top. 5. Scroll down till you find a Cookie with the name PREF assigned to any of the google domains, select it. 6. After you've selected it, click on the Delete cookie button. Close the options and you should have gotten rid of the supposingly called "new" layout. |
