ok i replaced the heat sink/fan for the CPU, and that brought my CPU temp down to about 34C which is pretty good, but theres still temp3 thats ~ 57C any one know what it is and how i can cool it? RE: somethings still running hot by NiteMare on 04-28-2006 at 02:14 AM
i don't mean to be double posting, i just would really like responce, because my computer keeps freezing during start up, i basicly have a 1in 50 shot of geting a sucessful start up RE: somethings still running hot by Hank on 04-28-2006 at 02:21 AM what programs u got running in the background? RE: somethings still running hot by NiteMare on 04-28-2006 at 02:24 AM
not much: RE: somethings still running hot by Hank on 04-28-2006 at 03:22 AM ok i looked on mine an i cant see any problems there. so im maybe assuming its hardware related , but what i dont know RE: somethings still running hot by NiteMare on 04-28-2006 at 03:31 AM i'm inclinded to agree, i think the crashes may be driver related RE: somethings still running hot by rav0 on 04-28-2006 at 03:44 AM
Maybe Temp3 isn't for anything, and is just reporting a nonsense value. RE: somethings still running hot by Hank on 04-28-2006 at 06:39 AM whats iexplorer.exe have you tried killing that process an rebooting? RE: somethings still running hot by Plik on 04-28-2006 at 06:56 AM
quote:erm, its not iexplorer.exe its iexplore.exe and thats the exe for IE ¬¬ And he says his computer has problems starting up, so end processes and restarting won't help much RE: somethings still running hot by Hank on 04-28-2006 at 07:03 AM
quote: i havent got iexplorer.exe on my system, i dun a check on it to an someone else dont have iexplorer either just explorer.exe RE: somethings still running hot by Plik on 04-28-2006 at 07:08 AM
quote:Open up internet explorer and you'll have an iexplore.exe (no r at the end) process running, unless you renamed the IE exe ¬¬ RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-28-2006 at 08:16 AM Download a copy of Everest by Lavalys.. It will tell you the actual componant or sensor, aswell as everything else about your computer.. Good program. Then you can find out whats running hot.. But if i had my guess its the Graphics card. try going into your BIOS, some chipsets have a builtin hardware monitor, and it might be a bit more descriptive. Lavalays works well too. RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-28-2006 at 12:43 PM Ive heard of high end PS's having them. But not your average one.. My board has 3 sensors on it, both my hdd's have sensors, my cpu and graphics card so their probly the ones your looking at. RE: somethings still running hot by NiteMare on 04-28-2006 at 09:50 PM
funny thing is its go its like 25C now RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-29-2006 at 01:42 AM er yeah computers dont just stay the same temp.. that sentance is a bit confusing but i think your saying its 25c now.. thats not unusual the temp also depends on your room temp and how long its been on for.. RE: somethings still running hot by NiteMare on 04-29-2006 at 03:30 AM i ment to say its gone now, the problem, the temp3 that had been running hot for so long is fine now, i beleive it was teh mother board or the video card RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 04-29-2006 at 08:40 AM My computers overeating so badly it wont turn on for ages and ages RE: RE: somethings still running hot by rav0 on 04-29-2006 at 08:49 AM
quote:Elaboration maybe? Also, if it's a problem, it's probably worth its own thread. RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-29-2006 at 03:15 PM

RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 04-29-2006 at 03:28 PM I've checked it now. everythings fine but it beeps and then restarts sometimes then the other times it runs fine but the gpu doesnt boot up by the looks of it. :@ RE: somethings still running hot by user27089 on 04-29-2006 at 03:31 PM If it's bleeping, then it's a problem with the RAM. RE: somethings still running hot by Jhrono on 04-29-2006 at 03:55 PM
quote:Beeping == RAM problems ? Not necessarily. RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 04-29-2006 at 04:17 PM and accosianly it says soemthing bou the BIOS RE: somethings still running hot by Plik on 04-29-2006 at 04:27 PM if it beeps, find your motherboard manual and check what the beeps mean. e.g. 2 short + 1 long could mean a RAM issue (that was just made up off the top of my head though ) RE: somethings still running hot by Reaper on 04-29-2006 at 06:33 PM If you dont have the motherboard manual, but you know the make of the BIOS then you can google the beep codes. RE: somethings still running hot by YottabyteWizard on 04-29-2006 at 08:02 PM Or download Motherboard Monitor, but i suspect it will be a bad motherboard sensor. RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 04-30-2006 at 07:20 AM how can i download motherboard monitor when it womt switch on properly RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-30-2006 at 10:19 AM Have you got the manual? Check out the beep codes.. If you want to do it manually then get in there, unplug everything (and i mean everything) plug it back in.. Then if its still beeping and you dont know what it is, try pulling out your RAM, then PCI cards etc till you find the problem.. and if you dont find it then its your mobo. RE: somethings still running hot by rav0 on 04-30-2006 at 10:47 AM When my CPU HSF wansn't on properly, the computer would turn itself off a few seconds after I turned it on. When I turned it on again, it turned itself off faster (because the PCU was already warm, and it didn't take as long for it to get dangerously hot). RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 04-30-2006 at 11:18 AM
There's a variety of things happening. Like: RE: somethings still running hot by Pyroteq on 04-30-2006 at 11:55 AM Sounds like a hard drive or software failure. Have you tried booting from CD? RE: somethings still running hot by Nathan on 05-02-2006 at 05:32 PM
Nope, but im at boarding school so cant try now |
