For some reason, MessengerPlus has stopped logging events.


I have reinstalled plus.

Deleteed the old event logged, tried restarts toggling the events log on and off and it still will not log events with my chat logs.


Any ideas?

yes it is ticked but still no events logging :(

:mipdodgy: please read the post... He wants events logged not chats.

In the event viewer are simple things such as name changes shown? I am curious if Plus! is recording the events just not writing them properly.

by event viewer I assum you mean the event log window... yes it is all in there...


Just not being written to the txt file I had originally nor creating a txt file to begin creating a Log.

Try changing the path of the location to your C:\ drive temporarily to see if it will properly write the file.

ok, tried that and after 5 mins a my chatlogs file has appeared, but no events log.

I'm going to assume that the option to record to a file is checked, as you can't change the path unless it is. What sort of paths are you trying? Sometimes programs can have problems with odd characters in file paths. Either that, or you may not have write access to that folder. Try in your 'My Documents' folder.

I have tried to

My documents
C:\
D:\
Random folder
Desktop


all same, this file... which has no extension when I open it with notepad... does indeed seem to have all the event log info...

But

Its not in .txt format nor is it the usual eventslog name :|

Ah, so at least it is getting written to a file. It's probably a temp file which, for some reason, isn't being renamed to the correct name.

Messenger plus has delayed write doesn't it?


Could altering the delay times rectify the problems do you think?
