For the past week Google hasn't been loading for me. I've asked others if it was loading for them and it seems to be fine for everyone else. RE: Google won't load. by fishybobbins on 05-28-2006 at 08:57 AM
Have you tried: RE: Google won't load. by J.J on 05-28-2006 at 08:59 AM
quote: Yes, no browser will work. quote: Yes, no sites work. RE: Google won't load. by lordy on 05-28-2006 at 09:06 AM try accessing it from http://66.249.93.104/ RE: Google won't load. by -dt- on 05-28-2006 at 09:21 AM
checked your host file for a google entry? quote: RE: Google won't load. by rav0 on 05-28-2006 at 09:42 AM A windows hosts file should look like this: code:The last line is one which I added as an example. With that there, programs will think that the IP address for google.com is 127.0.0.1 (which is always your your own computer. When I try to load http://google.com/, the browser will try to contact a server on my own computer, and since there isn't one, will return an error that the server couldn't be contacted. Instead of 127.0.0.1 there could be another IP address. RE: Google won't load. by find_your_spot on 05-28-2006 at 01:41 PM The last days i have problems with google earth..... RE: Google won't load. by Chris4 on 05-28-2006 at 09:39 PM
Or try pinging google.com, see if you get a response. RE: Google won't load. by Menthix on 05-28-2006 at 09:42 PM Just remember Google has loads of IPs because it isn't served by just one server. So it isn't necessary wrong when you get another IP than Chris. But if it's a local IP like 120.0.0.1 or some dodgy IP not owned by Google than yes, there is something wrong RE: Google won't load. by L. Coyote on 05-28-2006 at 09:49 PM
If all else fails, try: Start > Run > type "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS" (no quotes) RE: Google won't load. by J.J on 05-29-2006 at 06:04 AM
quote: Thats works quote: I just checked it out now. There seems to be no google entry. quote: Seems to be fine. quote: Doesn't work RE: Google won't load. by Unwritten Law on 05-29-2006 at 06:12 AM
umm try RE: Google won't load. by lordy on 05-29-2006 at 06:13 AM If the flush DNS thing doesn't work and you can access it from the IP but not the domain name then I'd say it's an ISP problem. Ring your ISP and ask them about it RE: RE: Google won't load. by rav0 on 05-29-2006 at 07:37 AM
quote:Therefore, you have a DNS issue. quote:Does the command not work, or does the command work, but not make Google start working properly? RE: Google won't load. by J.J on 05-29-2006 at 08:17 AM
quote: meaning i have to ring my internet provider like lordy mentioned above? quote: The command works, but doesn't have any effect on getting google to load. RE: Google won't load. by Mike on 05-29-2006 at 08:28 AM
Try adding this line at your hosts file: RE: RE: Google won't load. by rav0 on 05-29-2006 at 09:29 AM
quote:It might help. The problem might pass, but since it's still occuring, I suspect that there might be a virus messing with your computer. |
