Content restore? [sug] by The_Joker on 06-14-2006 at 08:42 AM
What I mean is:
I have some winks from BlueMountain (when it was "free" ) but somewhen my MSNM crashed, resulting a disappearance of all the winks (the files with the data are still there, some winks managers/downloaders programs recognize them but the MSNM doesn't).
So my suggestion is that you will make a program like the MP! sound library fixer, but that fix MSN Custom Content (emoticons, winks, DPs, DDPs, etc.).
Thanks in advance,
The_Joker

You can use Baisoft MSN Backuper

Tried that, didn't worked (gave errors not matter what I do).
What I look is not exactly a backupper, but a library fixer.

No, what I mean is winks that I already downloaded and have (had ).
They are in a messenger folder as .dat files.
(C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\<msgId?>\Winks3)
The problem is, I guess, a mapFile that got corrupted.
So because of that MSNM doesn't recognize the winks.
The idea is a program that will fix it, search for the dat files and add them to the mapFile.

Sorry for double posting but I need to bring it back to first page so people will see it.
I think I have a great idea:
Copy the .dat files to MSNM/WLM temporary folder so the content stealer will recognize them as "downloaded" and offer to "steal" them.
Now, the question is: Will this theory work?
Probably better to ask in the SP forums but maybe some people here also know how it works, so...
