all i need to do is delete one file which will disable deepfreeze from working, then when i install something it wont be deleted when restarted [Image: msn_grin.gif]

and i have 4 days f school left so i dont care what i do :P

edit: its a win98 so i think it'll be easier

Win98 doesn't support NTFS :P
The drive you want to delete a file from won't be on that machine: it'll be on the server :P:P

um deepfreeze isnt that easy to disable my friend. Trust me, I speak from experience. If you have an older version of deep freeze, then you are lucky since there is a tool out there to brute force it. The only viable solution to disabling deep freeze is open a hex editor, find the exe and do certain hex edits to it.

On a side note, putting stuff in the startup folder does miracles :P (oddly enough deep freeze completely ignores the startup folder :S).

p.s. where do you go to school?

burnaby, canada here.

but i found tut which says to boot from floppy and delete c:\windows\system\iosubsys\persifrz.vxd (on win98), that is the deepfreeze driver...

also canada

try this http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

I used to use it, it really helps when servicing stuff. Tell me if the method you tried works.

no it has to be a floppy cuz the order is floppy/hd/cd in the bios, and i cant change it [Image: msn_sad.gif]
but i'll try anyways

Our school has a system called surf control and its really tough to beat plus we can't do anything because the admin has like stopped everything like desktops and downloads.

Insert a floppy into your floppy drive.
Go to My Computer.0
Right click floppy drive and select format.
Select the box that says to make it a bootable floppy disk.
Click Format.
