well I was lookin at my programs that start up at beginning of when windows loads up and MsgPlus.exe also loads up too, why does it load up on startup when msn messenger or windows messenger arent even open?

and what will happen if i stop it on startup?

msgplus.exe starts up so then when you Load up MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger, Messenger Plus! will be ready and rearing to go.

Stopping msgplus.exe will result in Messenger Plus! not being loaded when you start MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger.

Well, it starts up anyway because it doesn't know if msn messenger is going to start up before it actually does... for that you'd need a magic trick, not a messenger extension.

If you're on XP, you can change Plus! to Alternate hooking mode, which will remove the startup process, but still load Plus!. It uses a different method of loading to achieve this.

This will be gone in Messenger Plus! Live too
