Allright well you guys probably seen this new virus online, the one saying :

Well I need some information on it, as how is it sent? To the total list? Or the opened conversations? What if I blocked you, would it send you the message or not? Or do I have to have opened a conversation with a blocked contact?

Just really important for me to know.. So if you guys know anything,please tell.

I dont get the question you are asking btw, i just want to inform you never ever download an .exe file for which you dont have information. Please just explain the question again. I really couldnt get it properly.

Let's say my friend has the virus, and she has me on her contact list, does she have to like open a conversation with me so that the virus gets sent? Or does the virus by itself open conversations with everyone online?

I think the virus opens a conversation when the connection between the contacts start and send the automatic message. This is the something like the im-names adware. If you need information for how to disable it, just reply back and wait for 10-15 mins till i experiment with the virus.

I am 99% sure about it if you say that you got it from messenger. BTW did you download this file?

I haven't gotten it at all. One of my friend did, well.. an old friend.. really old, it's been so long she's even off my list.. and I thought she blocked me.. but like I got that message and I was like wtf.. so I ask my other friend who is on her list as well.. and she's not receiving any messages from her.. so basicly she'd open the conversations with me.. which would be very weird.. anyways, I know this sounds really childish.. I just need to be sure that this message is only sent to opened connections, and that it doesn't create any new one.

Now i installed the virus and tried it with smarterchild and other bots. Its send being sent when a connection is made between the two contacts i can assure you. Anyways i have got rid of the virus using TASK MANAGER and McAffe Antivirus.

IIRC you don't actually get the virus until you download the file do you?

I meen clicking the link doesn't give you the virus downloading the .exe is what does yeah?

Just because in firefox it asks you whether you want to download it.
