Hey Guys,
I have been having this problem for a while with windows live messenger, I dont think its connected with msg Plus but see if you guys can help me out.

The problem is that on windows live messenger, I just can't see anybody's personal message, however, I can set my own, and people can see that.

I installed windows live messenger on my vista install and it seems to show up personal messages just fine (That one does not have msg plus).

I un-installed and installed quite a few times now with no results.  If anybody could help me out, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you use a patch? If yes then try removing it.

no patch, infact even just WLM is not showing me the personal messages right now.

Would you be able to post a screenshot? I dontthink this has anything to do with Messenger plus! live.

ok another thing could you please add yourself to your list then get a screenshot high light where you are on the list so i can see if it shows it or not.

I dont see any problem i can see everyones elses personal message and i can see your own.

Are you using the custom nickname feature on Windows live messenger?

You can see the perso-message in the top of the window, but you can't see it on the highlighted name... so no, it's not working for him, but I'm unsure to how it is to be fixed.

No i am not using custom nickname feature.

It does not matter even if you use the custom naming feature, it still shows the perso-message.

The personal messages aren't showing in the CONTACT LIST!

I'm guessing he wants to see other peoples' perso-messages as well.

Personal messages are seperated from the nickname with a hyphen (-) and are in a lighter gray font.

So no, you are wrong, the personal messages are in fact not showing, his problem still stands.

Omg you should have explained your self better i thought you were talking about the top writing which is called your personal message, well i call it a personal message.

Ok type something in your personal message and then  click off it have you tried that?

That is called the nickname.

Yes i have tried that.. I can't see ANYBODY's personal message.  I could care less about looking at mine haha.

When you turn on 'what i am listening to' does it display what you are listening to? have you tried not typing it directly there and going into personal settings and typing it there?

It's not only about his own perso-message, he can't even see his other contacts' perso-messages.

I think it has something to do with registry, because he tried it on Windows Vista, and it worked properly.

(He has XP and Vista installed on two different partitions.)
