[Request] Mail in Default Browser by Graventhorp on 06-26-2006 at 12:06 AM

I brought this up in the Help & Support Forum, but I thought I'd post an official request.

Can something be done about WLM always opening Internet Explorer for checking your mail instead of your default browser?? This was without a doubt the most useful feature of the StuffPLugNG plugin for previous versions, but I really miss it for this version and the next StuffPlug will be a standalone, and I'd like to only have plus! on my WLM.

I'm sure lots of Firefox and Opera users out there would really like a script that opened the default browser instead of IE when clicking on the mail icon or on a toaster of new mail.

Thanks!

Your best bet would be to wait for StuffPlug 3.
I know it sounds like having multiple add-ons would be resource hogging, but I can assure you that it will take no more resources than it would do as a Plus! plugin. I've always taken great care in making StuffPlug one of the best plugins out there, and I will keep on doing that for SP3. So don't worry ;)

I really liked StuffPlug, but I really only used the default browser for mail and DP/CE cache features, so I think having a whole new plugin, apart from plus!, just for the mail chekcing thing is overkill.... not to mention that it seems like SP3 is still a long ways off, and WLM is here NOW.

No possibilites for a script?

edit: typo

No possibilities for a script, way too advanced.

Really? No offense meant, seriously, but is that really true or are just saying it is so people wait for SP3?

If I say something it's generally true -_-
Anyway, it requires some ASM hooking in MSN, and that's not possible with scripts.

What if you use the script to load a dll? O_o

Hes got a point TB: it's possible.
RE: [Request] Mail in Default Browser by TheBlasphemer on 06-26-2006 at 01:57 AM

That'd no longer be a script, that'd be an add-on using a script as a wrapper ;)
But you're right, I didn't think about that yet.
I'm not going to do it though, way too busy with SP3 :)

I can wait: I use Windows Live Mail Desktop for all my e-mail now :D

So it IS possible....but no one is up for it?
