Could someone upload the scripting documentation to http://www.megauload.com ? RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Terry_K on 06-27-2006 at 01:50 AM
I think the domain has expired so I can't upload the documentation. I had troubles downloading the scripts and docs too, but I found out the referer blocking was the problem RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-27-2006 at 09:31 AM Which dodgy browser doesn't send referers ? That would indeed cause a problem on the anti-leech in the download DB. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Eljay on 06-27-2006 at 09:33 AM
quote: i would say it was more likely to be a firewall than a browser, i know norton has a block referers option so probably others do too. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-27-2006 at 09:42 AM
Pfft... Norton is dodgy, blocking referers doen't have anything to do with security. It's only breaking the standards. RE: RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by segosa on 06-27-2006 at 09:57 AM
quote: As far as I know Norton replaces the referrer with some random crap like "----------------------------". RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-27-2006 at 12:20 PM
If you are sure about that and Norton always sends the same referer, then i could simply make a rule for that. I'll do some googling later today i guess . RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 05:26 AM
Ahhh Very helpful, wouldnt it expect it to do that, usually Norton likes to be a pain in my ass and pop up uselessy. Well I am using IE-6, Norton Internet Shitcurity 2003 (6.0.4.35) and Norton Anti-Virus (9.05.15) RE: RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 07:58 AM
quote: No Need for those using Norton Internet Sh!tcurity the solution is as follows: <open Norton Internet Security up, click "options">>"Internet Security">>"Web Content"TAB>>"Global Settings"TAB and permit "Information about visited sites" RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by BigTrev on 06-28-2006 at 12:12 PM
Norton Internet Security 2004: RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-28-2006 at 12:31 PM
But i still want to enable downloads for people with that option on too. Because Norton is quite popular and not everybody is smart enough to turn that feature off or come here to see what's causing the problen, so... RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 02:25 PM
what is quoted with option "information about visited sites" Blocked is RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-28-2006 at 03:58 PM Thanks. It should now work with that option in Norton on too, if anyone can confirm that it would be nice. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Pai on 06-28-2006 at 04:37 PM Actually you can set Firefox to not provide referal data to the website (so this problem may not be related to only Norton): just setting network.http.sendRefererHeader in your about:config to 0 disables it, and 1 enables RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 06:11 PM
But who, in thier right mind uses "firefux". RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Pai on 06-28-2006 at 07:32 PM
Well for starters, I use firefox. And so do a lot of other people, so your personal opinion about it doesn't change the fact that it's quite popular, and therefore worth considering RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 07:44 PM
well then take it to a firefux forum, RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Pai on 06-28-2006 at 08:01 PM
You're not getting it, it's not a problem so I should take it to a FF forum, it's a feature. Firefox allows you to clear your path through the web and protect your privacy, therefore any website that relies on this information (that can be spoofed) should adapt to it. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-28-2006 at 08:11 PM whay, just seems perfectly useless, especially after the fact.. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Menthix on 06-28-2006 at 08:45 PM
quote:I know there are thousands of apps that can do such things. However, they all do the same (unless the are [b]really[b] lame and use a random string for referer). Be my guest and try it in Firefox to see if it works, it should. RE: RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by BigTrev on 06-29-2006 at 12:58 AM
quote: MenthiX it is showing: Your referer is: "". when i have removed the rule. RE: Can't Download The Scripting Documentation by Three6Mafia on 06-29-2006 at 05:42 AM ok well the problem is back ohwell *turns the option back to "permit" |
