i had windows live messenger / msn 8 with messenger plus live working fine for two days then when i restart my computer i keep getting the following message whenever i try to sign in:

A system restore sometimes does more harm then good.
Please Uninstall WLM and Msg Plus! Live, Delete their folders in program files, and reinstall..

basically i can only get it to work when i restore back to version 7.0 ... but i rerally want to fix this with this version or i'll maybe never be able to update to a new version ever again.

have you done this?

yep i have. still get the same error.

if u have removed it and installed it and that did not work - do a system restore

i said i've already tried restoring.

how many days did u put it back??

to before i installed windows live messenger.

nope. pretty much all i did was

sunday - install windows live messenger. its working fine.
a few hours later i installed messenger plus live. its working fine.

today - i restart my computer. i get this error whenever i attempt to sign into msn.

tryin goin back to 7.5 and signin in and if it goes - remove that and try WLM again

I suggest you do a virusscan as this appears to be a trojan/virus.


at all the responses inhere from ppl who did no further research on wmeayl32.dll

nope ive already scanned for viruses.

and 7.5 never worked for me i got the same error message whenever i tried to sign in to that. i was using 7.0.

well tell someone finds out why its doin that or has a way around that - here are 2 good programs u can use

Do a search to the file wmeayl32.dll in your PC.
What is the size of that file? probably is spyware not working with new WML U should fix that.

See if the size of that DLL is in this info page:
http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/malware/wmeayl32.dll.php

... theres no wmeayl32.dll that should be interfering with wml.

After some search I suspect that there is a spyware infection, try some other foruns like http://www.spywarewarrior.com/ to help you with that DLL file issue.
Get some more info about that file here: http://www.file.net/process/wmeayl32.dll.html

If you find something about that error, post here the solution it may be helpfull to others...

thanks man i tried posting before but it kept coming up page cant be displayed...

ive got it fixed now. it was those 3 files (or one of them) that was causing the error. i couldnt delete the files so i renamed them all and now my msn is working fine again.
