I've tried telling them there is a new version of messenger plus which is available but they haven't put it up on there list of updates
They won't they do it or does Patchou have to tell them

Because Messenger Plus Live! is a whole new code and only runs on Windows Live Messenger, so tell them to download Live Messenger and Live Plus 
Also try telling them to visit www.msgpluslive.net

they supply the update links and also the download link which you can change but you can't change the name of it 
anyways I gave it a comment saying its an extention for windows live messenger maybe you could help me by telling them also

I've told them, and in the comments box put the name had changed.

Replacing Plus!3 with Plus!Live would therefore be wrong.
