If you use the word replacement feature part of the Quick Text feature, it replaces the word even if it is a part of another word.
Ex. If "hi" is set to replace "hello", "high", will be changed to "hellogh".
(Unless it's not meant to be the Custom Word Filter feature from MP!3, then I guess it's not a bug.)

Just change it to #hi# you put the # around it if it is a whole word.
