I've had a look around but haven't seen much on this feature. RE: Set message when idle? by welsh_pcwhiz on 07-22-2006 at 07:41 PM
Well, when I use the custom status, it all seems to work fine. However, for the '(Idle)' section you mention, when creating the status you need to add the 'Name Tag'. e.g. : 'NAME'-'(CUSTOM STATUS NAME TAG)'-'(GENERAL STATUS)' e.g.2 : Fred - Eating dinner - Away With Plus! Live you can now also set your personal message to change as well as your status. Also, it might be useful to know that you can set multiple auto-messages, which, in my opinion, are GREAT! What these do is that when someone IM's you, the auto-message (a-m) will appear. Then, if you have set multiple a-m's, if they type somthing else, then a different message will appear. Now, to do this...
Here's an example: I'm not available #I said I'm not available # Hello! Can't u read? I said I'M NOT AVAILABLE!!! # OH! I give up! Also, I think, but I'm not possitive, that if u include a command such as '/away' in your a-m, it will change your staus to a different staus (in this case, away). So, I hope this has answered your question and helped to improve your messaging experience! RE: Set message when idle? by su7an on 07-22-2006 at 09:13 PM Thanks, i've got the status name tag working, but how can I have Plus! set me to that status after a certain period of time has passed? Hmm... Good question! Was that possible in older versions? RE: Set message when idle? by su7an on 07-22-2006 at 10:20 PM I'm certain it was possible in the older version. The auto-away option in the MSN preferences just wasn't specific enough for me, which is why I prefer to set an idle state RE: Set message when idle? by welsh_pcwhiz on 07-23-2006 at 11:28 AM
OK. I agree with ur opinion of the auto-away feature! RE: Set message when idle? by su7an on 07-23-2006 at 03:20 PM Great, thanks you RE: Set message when idle? by CanadianOriginal on 07-23-2006 at 10:52 PM I'm looking forward to this. I'd dicussed it in a different thread. It'll be god to have this feature back RE: Set message when idle? by welsh_pcwhiz on 07-26-2006 at 03:23 PM
Just to let u know, I havn'y started work on the script yet. Nad when I do, it'll be my 1st script so will take some time. So don't get too excited! I'm not even sure that I will do the script yet! I think it'll be somthing that I sorta do in my spare time... U know... RE: Set message when idle? by su7an on 07-26-2006 at 07:57 PM Take your time RE: Set message when idle? by CanadianOriginal on 07-28-2006 at 12:23 AM
it's not like we're paying for it, so we won't push you RE: Set message when idle? by GeeZuZz on 07-28-2006 at 02:09 AM
I was just wondering the same thing... Previously i somehow managed to get MSN change to my personlized status when idling - this seems to be impossible in the live version. RE: Set message when idle? by hiqbal on 07-31-2006 at 02:45 AM
There used to be the feature in the older version which would let you specify the time for personalized status. For example: you could specify that after 5 minutes the status should be "Out for Dinner". |
