can't get gradient text/font colours happening by purpletwilight on 07-25-2006 at 08:09 AM

Hey! Okay so have upgraded to messenger live 8.0 and have downloaded messenger plus live ( umm 4.0?) in the converstaion window beside the sounds icon, there is an icon with all kinds of colours in it, if you click it your colour options show up, and at the top right there is a T. If you click it a small menu pops up and says:  text
                                                  gradient text
                                                  backgrounds
                                                  gradient background

when i click on gradient text a check mark shows up, but NOTHING happens when i type. I have clicked on colours and tried to define custom colours but it doesn't work. What's wrong?
Please forgive me, and correct me if i'm wrong, but gradient text/font is that not like on yahoo messenger when your text changes colour as you type? Help would be appreciated.

Thanks twilight  :|

It's not as you type: the Yahoo! add-on you're thinking of is Rainbow Text.
TO use the gradient, select the text you want to apply it to, then select Gradient, then select the two colours.

Thanks RaceProUK! Muchly appreciated. I would have remained stumped on that one forever!:D

Now is there anything like a rainbow text for msn messenger? Does anyone know? Again any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Twilight

Nothing at the moment, but it's possible for a script to do something like that.

Thanks again!

:$ .. But could you kindly explain what scripts are? Maybe recommend a couple of good "learning sites" for me to visit. Incase i'm not obvious enough, i'm relatively new at all this.

Thanks again

JScript
Put simply, they're text files with simple program code inside to perform smallish tasks.
