allow way longer names...i think they got rid of it...i can barely fit anything in my name compared to the old one.

I don't believe there was an option to have more charecters in your name...?

I can only see the option to make the max. charecters more in your messages (in Msg Plus!) 
Nothing about it in the Msg Plus! Feature List?
Also, I can't see anything about it in the entire Plus! Live Beta Changelog?
Anyway, I'm probely wrong, and blind.

No, i believe you are right, it only puts up the maximum chars in the messages sent.
Though you can use mess patch to lengthen the amount of characters in you PSM.
