[size=2] RE: hijacked browser IE6 by GiantSpider on 08-05-2006 at 08:51 PM Try uninstalling programs he installed immediately before his browser got hijacked. If this doesn't bring success try downloading ad-aware and do a virus scan aswell. Registery checkers can help stop this kind of thing happening. RE: hijacked browser IE6 by Felu on 08-06-2006 at 10:01 AM Tell him to try a system restore(Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore) to a previous date when he didn't install something infectious. I would try to fix the problem first, before doing a system restore. Don't always rely on it to 'cure' problems. Sometimes it can make things worse. Boot up in safe mode and do scans with Spybot and even Ad-aware. If you're knowledgable enough, try HijackThis!. |
