download won't open - Printable Version

get 2 error messages when i try to open the downloaded file .. it won't open from the download either .. messages are : MSGPLUSLIVE-401.EXE file is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:IsWow64Process" ... and the other is "a device attached to the system is not functioning"
please help

I think the KERNEL32.DLL is missing in your computer. Download it from here and move it into the System32 folder(\Windows\System32).

euh i have the same problem as well, but i DO have the KERNEL32.dll, it's in "C:\WINNT\system32" and yet i still get that error, can someone help please...

This is because you do not have Windows XP SP2. Visit WindowsUpdate to get it:

errrrrrrrr i'm trying to download the one for windows 2000 and yes i am downloading the correct one, NOT the "Messenger Plus! Live"...

i have sp4 for windows, i don't know what's wrong.

To verify (sorry, has to be said), http://download.msgpluslive.net/setup/MsgPlus3-Setup.exe?

I can assure you it works in Windows 2000 just fine. There's no SP to add this function to the kernel in Windows 2000.

After searching Google for a while, here's what I've come up with...

wsock32.dll
netapi32.dll

You need to download these ~~files from www.dll-files.com or www.dlldump.com~~ and place them in your system32 directory .. usually C:\Windows\System32

Don't do this. What you're reading is people who don't really understand what's happening and are guessing. And really, even if you were to successfully manage to copy over these files, Windows will just automatically replace it with the correct version.

Let me translate the error message for you into English. It's saying that the IsWow64Process function can't be found in Kernel32.dll. Why can't it be found? Because the function didn't exist prior to Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.

As such, if an application attempts to access this function on Windows versions prior to these, you will get the error.

Arbitrary copying over Windows system files from any old place on the web isn't going to solve the problem.

One cannot answer a question correctly if one does not understand the question, or in this case, the problem.
