SCI FI Wire has confirmed that the SCI FI Channel is not renewing "Stargate SG-1" for another season, but will pick up its spinoff series "Stargate Atlantis" for a fourth year. "SG-1" aired its 200th episode on Aug. 18, and the series is the longest-running science fiction show on American television.
Actually i think its about time Stargate SG-1 is cancelled dont take me wrong i used to like this show but since they cut off the Jack OŽneal the show isnt the same. but what do you think aobut this?

They should have stopped years ago.
In the beginning they were still following some of the rules from the movie, but after a couple of seasons they kept making adjustments and it began to start being annoying.
And what ALL series should do, if one of your leads stops kill the show...

I actually disagree on this, on a British show called Spooks they lost all 3 of the lead cast in one series and just phased in new leads and it still works.
Yeah and that is a great show so it doesn't mean that without the same lead the show will fail. :\
