Hi can anyone help me aout about the Bt Voyager 105 modem, using AOL 9, fresh install of Win XP, SP2. RE: BT Voyager 105 by Jimcando on 08-24-2006 at 08:05 PM
I know that if the cable going from your phone line to your modem is too long (over 10 metres I think) then it can cause problems. RE: BT Voyager 105 by dominicowen on 08-24-2006 at 08:58 PM
I wouldnt personally have AOL as an ISP its a company im dealing with has go this problem. RE: BT Voyager 105 by dominicowen on 08-24-2006 at 09:06 PM
I mean if I pulled out the filter and then put it back in the master phone socket, sometimes it works fine with a limited connectivity message.!!!! RE: BT Voyager 105 by Jimcando on 08-24-2006 at 09:07 PM
Does the limited connectivity have any effect on the broadband working? Because most of the time it just says that because AOL is being annoying. You can disable the warnings by right-clicking on the icon (probably called AOL Broadband or something similar) in the Network Connections window and selection Properties and unchecking 'Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity' RE: BT Voyager 105 by dominicowen on 08-24-2006 at 09:13 PM
No probs. RE: BT Voyager 105 by Jimcando on 08-24-2006 at 09:17 PM
I think it might be the length of the cable or just a crappy connection to your area. RE: BT Voyager 105 by dominicowen on 08-24-2006 at 09:27 PM
Thanks for your help. I will fit a small length telephone cable and advise them to get the phone socket checked out just incase. RE: BT Voyager 105 by kao on 08-24-2006 at 09:43 PM A company using AOL? are they mad? RE: BT Voyager 105 by dominicowen on 08-24-2006 at 09:56 PM I thought that when they told me. Not the best way to run company emails... RE: BT Voyager 105 by saralk on 08-25-2006 at 09:01 AM btw, a little tip, you don't have to use the AOL software to connect to the internet. If you double click on the icon with two arrows in your task bar, and click connect, then type the e-mail address of an AOL master account and the password, you will connect to the internet through the standard dial up networking. No arkward software neeeded. |
