I am Portuguese and I would like to become a translator, Plus! has already portuguese support and I believe there are already portuguese translator but I think that there can never be to many translators, to translate scripts and new versions of Plus! to come. quote:to be an official translator (those who translate the software and the web site), you did what you have to do: post a thread here and the official translators of Portuguese will reply. I don't assure you that they will add you in their team, maybe they don't need more people currently. on the other hand, to translate scripts and other things, first you have to ask for permission to their respective authors. Then, just translate it. There aren't official translators for such matters. Also, this thread you created is helpful for you, because scripts developers may be looking for translators for their scripts. They'll contact you if they need you ![]() RE: How to become a translator? by Gonçalo F. on 09-04-2006 at 11:49 PM
Hello Zeh RE: How to become a translator? by ZrednaZ on 09-07-2006 at 11:25 AM
quote:Trust me, there can be too many. ![]() I'd say 4 translators for Messenger Plus! is plenty, more would be silly. More translators means more work for the language co-ordinator: Trying to get 10 people to hand in their work on time; having to deal with 10 different terms for the same feature and what not. Also, a team of 10 translators wouldn't leave the individual translators with the same sense of responsibility since they wouldn't feel that their work played a very big role in the translation as a whole. RE: How to become a translator? by Zeh on 09-07-2006 at 09:21 PM I guess you have a good point there. RE: How to become a translator? by SysStream on 10-31-2006 at 11:56 AM
Hi. I'm SysStream from Malaysia. I would like to become a Malay language translator for Messenger Plus Live!. RE: How to become a translator? by CookieRevised on 11-01-2006 at 03:59 PM
quote:Start by reading all the posts in this thread, they contain extremely important info. Then, read the official Translation Guidelines and the Messenger Plus! translators manual. This documentation was written for Messenger Plus!3, but all the same things still apply for Plus!Live. And take notes of http://www.msgpluslive.net/help/faq/translation/#lang-add. After that, start translating Messenger Plus! (the language files are located in the Languages subdirectory where you installed Plus!Live) using the Lng_Default.ini file as your starting point. When you're finished and you have tested the translation for ampersand collisions, too long lines, etc!, you can make a new thread in this Translation subforum and attach your translation to your post so people can download, use and test it. If enough people use the translation, it may be included in the official setup. -------------------------------------------------- For translating the website, the same rules and notes apply. Only difference is that you need to have access to the private translation server. That access can only be given by Patchou himself. But start by translating Messenger Plus! itself, that would already be days and days of work. If the translation is a success you can proceed in contacting Patchou about the website. -------------------------------------------------- ![]() RE: How to become a translator? by pulseDJ on 11-08-2006 at 07:07 PM
