When using Windows Live Messenger and Live Plus! (latest version as of this September 4, 2006) there is a bug in boss protection mode. If one enters boss protection mode and subsequently there is a file added or a shared folder is created the Sharing Folders will appear despite the fact that one is in boss protection mode. Long story short: Boss Protection Mode doesn't work for Sharing Folders.

Boss protection has never worked for these features, aswell as these, it doesn't work when somebody tries to add you to their contact list. However, I'm sure Patchou will try and incorporate this into a future version (not the adding problem though, that's always been an issue).
