did u burn the image file on a dvd? u are supposed to burn it as an image so it would prompt you to search for a file with an .iso extention before burning RE: Vista doesn't autorun by Adeptus on 09-12-2006 at 02:04 AM
If you even have to ask about the name, you didn't burn it as an image. Instead, you burned it as a file on a data CD. RE: Vista doesn't autorun by DarkMe on 09-12-2006 at 02:12 AM
I burned it as a file, it won't work? =/ RE: Vista doesn't autorun by cloudhunter on 09-12-2006 at 02:14 AM You have to burn ISO's specially, so, back to burning for you darkme RE: Vista doesn't autorun by DarkMe on 09-12-2006 at 02:16 AM
RE: Vista doesn't autorun by Voldemort on 09-12-2006 at 02:43 AM
that seems to be the IS correct option =/ RE: Vista doesn't autorun by DarkMe on 09-12-2006 at 02:44 AM
Already burned RE: Vista doesn't autorun by Hank on 09-12-2006 at 04:28 AM burn it at a slower speed, not fastest , best way is to do a MD5Sum check on the .iso RE: Vista doesn't autorun by Vilkku on 09-12-2006 at 04:36 AM Also check that CD is on top of HDD in the BIOS boot settings. Also, if you don't have a separate partition it will install over XP/what you had before, just warning you if you didn't know. RE: Vista doesn't autorun by Chestah on 09-12-2006 at 10:00 AM
quote: Yeah, make sure your DVD-ROM drive is higher in the "Boot Order/Sequence" than your HDD. The boot order is essentially the order in which your computer will check for something to run. If your DVD-ROM drive is after your HDD then your computer will find windows first and not check the dvd. RE: Vista doesn't autorun by rav0 on 09-12-2006 at 10:39 AM If you're not sure about your boot order, then try another disk that you have booted from before (maybe Windows XP or Ubuntu Live). Take note that Windows XP, and probably Vista, show a small message (probably at the bottom of the screen "Press any key to enter Setup ...", and if you don't, the computer boots normally instead of from the CD/DVD. |
