ok i got this thing to resolve from school, and got this and cant figure it out, so i help out here ;)

which letter fills the box, and why?

its just that the teacher has a diff Q everyday, just like a thing to do for extra points :P but thats all he gave us today.,;)

darkme, which answer? the first or the second? :p


the first, following the horizontal substration logic would be letter 23, thus w, because:

22 - 12=10
23 - 13=10
thus
14 - 8=6
?? - 17=6

or the second, following the vertical substraction logic, thus c?

well, I think C too, for the same reason... or almost, as you made an error in your math ;)

23-17 = 6, not 5

the pattern is each time +2

(although I also think W K (edit: see gif83's post) can be a perfect solution as there is also a nice pattern for that...)

edit: i'm not really liking any of those solutions so far since they don't seem to link all the numbers together well... i think this is one of those things that can have multiple answers because the question is so vague.

both answers need all the letters to be there and link them all together though...

I'm for the method of taking the difference between the numbers vertically. As sortof explained above there are 3 letters between L and H, 5 between W and Q, 7 between V and N, hence suggesting the last gap should be 9. As the letter appearing last in the alphabet is always on the top line I say it's C as well
